GIFT NGOEPE BASEBALL HERO

From a tiny back room in a baseball dugout, to international stardom and a chance to play in the big leagues… one young African has achieved the impossible, inspiring sandlot dreamers to swing for the fences. This is the story of baseball in Africa. Thousands of young men try out every year around the world. A few hundred make it into the minors, but just a small handful are lucky enough to earn a spot on an American team. On April 27 2017, Gift Ngoepe became the first player from Africa to play in a major-league baseball game.
