CHEPAPE – ARTIST USING RECYCLED ART

Artists often find ways to craft their work using unlikely materials. In Johannesburg – one young artist is finding his inspiration in failed paintings. His name is Khehla Chepape Makgato, but most south Africans know him simply as Chepape. It was a passion cultivated by a lifetime of mentors, from his primary school English teacher to his high school biology teacher. By the time he left school, he knew he wanted to be an artist.
